New Year, New Everything

Before 2010 had even begun, I'd said an emphatic "Yes" to a new home, a new part of London, a new cat, and my partner said "Yes" to a new job.  Since then, I've attended a very sad funeral of a friend, Nigel - who's partner now faces the kind of change there really isn't much 'management' for.

Now its February, and I'm in the new house, cat on lap (who seems overly interested in what a 'blog' is). Maybe I'll visit www.averagecats.com to show her what's what and what a cat is not. I'm writing this not via the familiar wordpress, but via Kentico CMS which is now powering our new website.  A lot to learn anew on how to get my written word out to the public - So i feel like first things first - a quick user perspective review of Kentico CMS should be forth coming - and an honest one, given that WebProductive deploy, use and work with Kentico.

So will too much change kill you like the poor unfortunate stick man in this image? No, it won't. Such periods of upheaval remind me, as a change management 'person' that sometimes 'just' asking someone at work to adopt to a new system could a step too far.

Whilst no one wants to be analysed at work, its worth just being alive to the 'sum total' of a team members life and how the work change may impact them.
